Percy Jackson knows he’s never been quite normal. He has ADHD and is dyslexic, and trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes. Lately, however, things have been pretty odd, even for Percy. His best friend Grover and teacher Mr. Brunner have both been acting strange. What’s more, while on a field trip, Percy is sure something has happened, even though no one remembers it – or the teacher involved.
Soon after the summer starts, Percy and his mom go to the beach to get away from Percy’s awful stepdad, Gabe. But Grover shows up unexpectedly, and things take a turn for the worse. While at Camp Half-Blood, where Percy stays to get over his injuries, Percy learns that he is a demigod – and that Zeus believes he’s stolen something. Now Percy must embark on a quest to return Zeus’ stolen possession before he and Percy’s godly father clash in a devastating way.
Get ready to be addicted. I love this series, my younger sibling loves this series, and there are many follow-up series to this one, including: The Heroes of Olympus, Trials of Apollo, and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard. Percy and his friends are amazing and hilarious in so many ways. This review mainly focused on the first book, so as not to give any spoilers. I’m sure you all will love these books as much as I do. (Although Rick Riordan really needs to stop ending them with cliffhangers…)
